Our Music
We sing sacred music from the very earliest to modern – from plainsong, through Tudor and Victorian to modern anthems. Tallis, Bach, Mozart, Elgar, Bruckner, Sullivan, Rutter and Archer are some of our favourite composers.
We have even had music written especially for us. Anna Howard-Watson dedicated her Kyrie and Agnus Dei "for the Capriccio Singers" when she wrote them in 2004 for her A Level Music Exams. Influenced by Karl Jenkins and Haydn these pieces have become firm favourites with the choir. We've been promised a Sanctus too, "but I have to get angry first", she said!
Our lighter repertoire includes madrigals, traditional folk songs, "songs from the shows" and choral arrangements of recent and current pop songs. If you have a favourite song we would endeavour to include it in your concert. If we don’t know it we can learn it, given a little time. [scroll down]
